Privacy Policy

How N16 Consulting collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

N16 Consulting Ltd ("N16", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

We collect personal information in three ways:

When you visit our website

  • Anonymous usage data via Google Analytics (pages viewed, approximate location, device type, referral source)
  • Standard server logs (IP address, browser type)

When you contact us, submit a form, or book a call

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (if provided)
  • Job title and company (if provided)
  • The content of your message or any information you voluntarily share
  • Booking details when you schedule a discovery call

When you become a client

  • Information necessary to deliver our services (operational data, documents you share, meeting recordings if applicable)

2. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, primarily for analytics. Specifically:

  • Google Analytics (GA4) — to understand how visitors use the site (anonymous, aggregated)
  • Cloudflare — for site performance and security

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may affect how some parts of the site work.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and provide our consulting services
  • Send you relevant communications about our services (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Improve our website and services
  • Meet our legal and contractual obligations

4. Third-party services we use

We share information only with the service providers we use to operate our business. These are bound by their own privacy obligations:

5. International data transfers

Some of our third-party providers (notably Google, Microsoft, and LinkedIn) are based outside New Zealand. By using our website or services, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws. Where required, we ensure these providers offer appropriate safeguards.

6. How long we keep your information

  • Enquiry data: retained for up to 2 years from last contact, then deleted unless required for ongoing services
  • Client data: retained for the duration of our engagement plus 7 years (in line with NZ tax and record-keeping requirements)
  • Analytics data: as configured in Google Analytics (default 14 months)
  • Marketing list: until you unsubscribe

7. Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct any information that is inaccurate
  • Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time
  • Withdraw consent where we rely on your consent to process information

8. Data security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. No system is 100% secure, but we take this seriously.
